All of these events are part of the Canadian Medical Student Conference (CMSC) as our featured programs. You are automatically registered for these events when you register for CMSC! However, you must indicate which specific programs you plant to attend on the CMSC registration form, so we can keep you updated with the revelant pre-conference materials and session information.

For NDoA Part II, to ensure you have meetings booked with Members of Parliament, please fill out the separate NDoA II Delegate Intake Form which can be found on the CMSC registration form.

If you are attending this event as a self-funded student member, you may enroll in the CFMS-MDFM Travel Equity Fund to help cover a variable portion of your flight costs.

If you are self-funded, you will have the chance to opt-in to the CFMS-MDFM Travel Equity Fund on the CMSC registration form.

Eligibility:

• Student must be (partially) self-funded
• Airplane tickets must be bought at least 5 weeks before event start date
• Reimbursement request must be received by CFMS within 14 days after the last day of the event
• Travel expenses must adhere to the CFMS Travel Policy which can be found here

The TEF only includes airplane travel from departure city to event city. Does NOT include registration fees, accommodation expenses, inner city travel, meals, etc. Note, the TEF is most effective for those travelling long distances, i.e. flight costs exceed $300.

NEW: CFMS-MDFM Travel Award for financially restricted medical students:

• Five awards assigned through round of applications
• Applications open 1 December 2025
• Applications close 25 January 2026, 11:59PM PST
• Two awards for the Atlantic and Western Region each, one for NOSMU
• CFMS or Medical Student Society/ Association position holders not eligible
• Can include all travel expenses (excl. meals) upto assigned maximum
• Funding through reimbursement, CFMS Travel and Reimbursement Policy applies
• Free CMSC registration
• Can opt-in for CFMS to arrange hotel: 2-3 students per room to lower hotel expenses

If your Med Soc is planning to fund a delegate who has not yet been elected for their position:

• You must still register and pay for a "placeholder" spot by the deadline, as spaces are limited and no accomodations will be made for registering after the deadline has passed
• First name: Placeholder, Last name: School + Position

You should have access to edit your ticket form anytime before April 1st with their updated information. Otherwise, please send an email to office@cfms.org to confirm their personal details (name, etc.) as soon as possible once elected.

YES! Your ICAM registration is included in the price of your CMSC registration under the "MedicalStudent admission" ticket. You will receive a code from CFMS with which to register for ICAM without further payment.

CFMS will no longer provide separate name badges, but will instead share CMSC 2026 ribbons to registered attendees, to be attached to the ICAM name badge.

Yes! If you already happen to be registered for ICAM (as an award winner, delegate, etc.) you have the option to purchase a CMSC-Only Student Admission ticket and this will give you access to all the events included in the CMSC, in addition to ICAM.

If you are a CFMS partner/sponsor, invited guest, speaker or interested participant who is not a medical student, you must register for CMSC through the CMSC-Only General Admission ticket. This ticket does not include access to ICAM and you will need to register for ICAM separately.

The Medical Student Admission (CMSC + ICAM) tickets are for current medical students only.

If you are a medical student currently enrolled in ANY of our 15 Canadian Member Schools, then congratulations you are offically a member of the CFMS!

If you attend one of the 3 non-CFMS member medical schools, then you would need to purchase an individual membership in order to become a CFMS member and have access to all of our amazing benefits.

Yes, the CFMS Spring General Meeting is open to all CMSC registered attendees. However, some portions of the agenda may be in camera sessions, which means any non-members (including invited guests, partners, speakers, etc.) will kindly be asked to leave the room.

The CFMS Spring General Meeting is mandatory for all voting members from each member school to attend. If you are not a voting member and/or not directly involved in CFMS business, the event is purely optional as it mainly relates to CFMS governance and procedures. You are more than welcome to attend if you would like to learn more about what we do!

The Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) is hosting its inaugural National Day of Action Part II -when medical students meet with their local Members of Parliament (MPs) following a full day of training. This year, we are furthering the advocacy efforts of NDoA 2025 and advocating for policies to improve Emergency Department Wait-Times. Part II takes the outcomes of NDoA 2025 and distills advocacy to the Asks and meetings that are most likely to precipitate progress. Unlike NDoA 2025, there will not be reserved seats for GAAC reps - all delegate applications will be considered equally.

Delegates will participate in in-person advocacy training on Sunday prior to meeting with MPs and Senators on Monday - no prior advocacy experience / NDoA experience is required. This is an excellent opportunity for medical students interested in health advocacy and for an opportunity to apply these skills in a rare and exciting opportunity to spark meaningful change in Canadian healthcare.

All students who wish to attend the NDoA Part II are encouraged but not required to attend the rest of the CMSC conference. Students who wish to only attend the NDoA Part II training to meet with MPs can specify this when they register for the CMSC. All students are expected to be present at the NDoA Part II training day if they wish to secure meetings with MPs.
